The most popular English language course for international students is the IELTS (the International English Language Testing System). This is a universally recognised system that measures the English language proficiency of people who want to study or work in environments where English is used as the main language of communication.
For example, for students who wish to study at a UK school at Year 12 level it is generally agreed that an IELTS score of 5.5 to 6.0 is required in order to succeed. International students will also require an IELTS score at or above 6.5 as proof of their English ability in order to enter a UK university.
@school-in-UK is able to recommend a number of courses that :
- prepare students to take the IELTS test,
- have a specific course that ends with students taking the IELTS test at a recognised centre,
- give students intensive English lessons to help them towards gaining a good IELTS score when they return to their own country.
We recommend that students wishing to take an English exam course in the UK consider a course of no less than four weeks of intensive study. Students with a weakness in one or more of the four elements (speaking, reading, writing, comprehension) should expect to take a longer course.
Other examination courses are also available such as the Cambridge exams (PET, FC, Proficiency) as well as City and Guilds, Trinity and Business exams. For further information please use our ‘contact’ link, tell us what you are seeking and we will be pleased to help.
